Ian and Di Trevallion opened their first Bureaux
business lounge in 2005 on York Street, Sydney. Ian had an idea for
a membership based business lounge concept after being continually
frustrated with business meetings in noisy cafes, not having access
to on-the-move resources and the inability to find city concierge
services.
The idea of ‘a better place to do business’
became a plan of action and the York Street site was available as
the first Bureaux location. The concept started as SPACE delivery
(business space) rather than SERVICE delivery for transient business
people. However, focus groups of the service delivery idea were very
well received, people liked the idea of portable options.
Hence, the Sydney site developed and opened in
November 2005. Tone Wheeler, a well renowned architect, had designed
a standard CAD model of a ‘general’ Bureaux site, which can be
adjusted depending on site size and local requirements. Bureaux
Sydney soon became known for its sleek, professional and funky
interior design and this is a theme Bureaux wish to keep in every
new site, incorporating top quality artwork, furnishings and
fittings. Each Bureaux site will also hold an antique bureau.
In June 2006, Bureaux Melbourne opened in
Lonsdale Street and the announcement of the Amex small business card
holder’s partnership with Bureaux was made.
The future is extremely exciting, with promising strategic
partnerships, great locations and a wide variety of members. With
the help of DC Strategy, formerly Deacons Consulting, Bureaux will
roll out a national and international company owned and franchised
network, ranging as far as the Middle East. |
