Robert Swan, OBE is a polar explorer, environmental leader and the first person ever to have walked to the North and South poles. He is an exceptionally gifted communicator and is regarded as one of the world’s top motivational speakers. He was nominted by Time Magazine in their Top Ten Motivational Speaker of All Time.
Swan’s unique insights and lessons learned have enabled him to educate and stimulate business leaders all around the world. He compares his icy experiences to boardroom maneuvers and his inspirational addresses on leadership and teamwork have received acclaim from discerning audiences worldwide.
His contribution to both education and the environment have been recognized through his appointment as UN Goodwill Ambassador for Youth, a visiting Professor of the School of the Environment at Leeds University and in 1994 he became Special Envoy to the Director General of UNESCO. He was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 1995.

In Support Of: Breaking The Cycle in AfricaBureaux, the Heart of Light Foudation, and Robert are hosting this event to raise the final funds needed for the extraordinary expedition that record making Aussie Cyclist, Kate Leeming is about to embark upon. Kate was the first woman to cycle across Russia, and during her circumnavigation of Australia, she became the first woman to cycle the Canning Stock Route (the world's longest stock route, bisecting four deserts entailing over 1,000 sand dunes). You can find footage of Kate here. Kate is now attempting a world first - to cycle from Africa's most westerly to its most easterly point. She will cycle 120 kms a day for ten months under challenging conditions to raise awares of extreme poverty in Africa.
